About me
I consider myself a traditional artist even though I've digitally designed and published software and
graphics for several years. I also make dolls and fairy houses and I occasionally like to sew. Among my many hobbies, I've
enjoyed learning a bit of nearly every
craft including knitting, crochet, quilting, decorative painting, paper
sculpting and oil painting.
I also love animals and working in the garden. I grow scented geraniums and Japanese maples as a
hobby and I love to paint. My most recent painting was... my kitchen. I
painted it yellow.
I've worked in the corporate world for over 20 years while raising three
kids, doing my artwork in my spare time. I have held jobs in the banking,
insurance and printing industries doing everything from underwriting to
web programming. With the support of my husband of 35+ years, I now work
on my own doing what I love best... painting and growing things.
Out of the box
In my most recent work life, I was a corporate web designer/developer, working for a printing company for a total of 14
years, the last 3 working in a 6 x 6 foot cubicle.
Two things I know for sure. I'm always going to be an artist (because it
makes me happy) but not in a cubicle (because it doesn't).
The rest is just details.
